NameQuorra Giovanna Nero What type of personality do you have?Ahh, well I suppose it could be described as... quiet? I am quite passionate about sewing and fashion. I am not always a people-person but I make sure to be as friendly and polite as I possibly can to everyone and anyone I speak to. I am an introvert and I love to read. Little by little I've noticed I've been becoming more inclined to carry on conversation with others and get involved in activities where interaction is prominent, such as this contest. I believe this could be a good change. Why do you want to be The Next Top Monster? As I stated, I am quite passionate about my sewing and I have always been interested in fashion. Mostly vintage. To win a title such as the one given by this contest would be something I would be very proud of actually. I believe I have what it would take for one to succeed in this competition. Would you like to participate in the "Comeback Call" should another ghoul drops out? It will grant you a second chance in the event someone drops out in the future.I would be honored. ~~~~~~~~~~
Quorra says such simple things with so many words sometimes @-@

You sure know how to layer, and I must say you have revived in me a love for blazers. “Black Lace Queen” is a very fitting title for you. ♥
The lighting on set might need to be adjusted, because your skin seems a bit dark, next to all the black ruffles. Also I wish there were a few more star buttons, perhaps on your shoes? That could surely bring everything together.
I am aware of the lighting issue and I shall try to be as mindful as possible in the future, if I were to get through this contest. Grazie."
I also love how the lighting is so dramatic but I would like to have a word with whoever did your makeup because while it shows the gorgeous planes of your cheeks it is a little too intense.
Your designer seemed to be so talented that I wish they had added a few more stars to your outfit, the touches in the lace on your sleeves are so delicate that I wish it was repeated in a few other areas.
Artful Critique: I can sea that you have a good grasp of shading but I just wanted to point out that you can use other colors other than black for shadows, on the skin a darker skin tone or a red or a greenish hue would probably work wonders.
The lighting is a fault of mine I suppose. My boyfriend took this photo but it had to be done indoors. It was far too cold to go outside but he -did- suggest that that might be better. However, I obviously argued against that notion.
Thank you for you words and I shall try to put them to good use in the future."
Ahh you've caught me in my experimental phase xD I'm glad you mentioned this. I haven't been doing this "shading with black" technique until about.. last month or so, so this isn't really my norm BUT I'm trying to find a happy medium where I can pull the elements of this shading and the effects it creates with my normal technique. Usually I just use the select tool to choose the base color, go a few shades darker and shade with that color OR if it looks right, I will use the burn tool. I either cell shade OR lay the shading down as if I were cell shading but grab the smudge tool and make those stark shade lines more fluid.
I'm going to try and get off the "all black parade" and integrate my old and new techniques to see what I get xD
Shading is super hard but i am completely confident that you will find the perfect method that works for you! It is all about experimentation.
I feel that the shadows from the lights are incredibly dark though.. maybe almost harsh on the bits of your skin.
Your legs... Something about them looks incredibly awkward that doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of your body. The bow-legged approach looks odd for the pose you’re trying to pull off. It makes it look overall more stuff than normal.
Artful critique: Be careful with the shapes of your hands. Your fingers are looking a bit longer than what they need to be.
In the future I shall do my best to illuminate this issue if I can.
The posing is not my favorite part of this photo of myself. It was an awkward experience for me and it would seem that it shows through by my body's language, no? I shall try to work on these critiqued things, thank you."
Yes, thank you. ^ ^
The hand-on-hip thing might be my suckiest hand pose therefore it did not turn out too well. However, I would argue that it's not so much the hands themselves, as it is the fingers. Her right hand has larger fingers than the other and the shading makes it look worse.
It seems that the lighting department might have to change out their filters... Your skin is looking too dark... almost too black where the skin is exposed. Maybe we can try to ask the lighting department for some softer lights so the shading won’t be so harsh on your beautiful skin.
I love this pose too.. Even though it's simple.. you're making it that much more interesting with what you're doing with your legs. Something tells me you would work incredibly well with anything high-fashion. You certainly have the facial structure down for it... and with the way your posed here.. just gives me a glimpse of what more you can accomplish.
I love this photo. Great job here.
It will be quite a feat if you are asking me to pull myself away from the darker color spectrum and all that it implies. I am much more comfortable not only wearing the dark but being in it. However I must try to put your critique to good use, yes? Credit for this pose must go to my boyfriend as well. He suggested I do my take on a more... ah... what is the word... dominative? Dominative approach. As I stated, previously, thank you very much."
