I'm very glad you like her! I have never drawn anyone with tattoos before, besides Quorra but Constance was a whole other experience with the color added... and her freckles xD
I tried xD yeah the tattoos are pretty menacing and tedious but I guess I did alright xD
I'd love to see you draw her : O
But I'm really not sure how to critique the piece, but I know we all want to get better so I'll say what just comes to mind.
1. You need to watch the hard edges of the shadows, around the pink rose there's this very sharp 90' degree angle, but the shoulder is more rounded. I'd advice adding in more shadows to help transition from the lights and the darks, and give her a more softer appearance, if that's desirable.
Really that's it. I love tattoos though, so if there's anything else I could suggest it's that cornerstores or some markets sell Tattoo sourcebooks with designs you'd rarely see on the internet, and these are good for reference and inspiration for artists. I've a few issues I occasionally practice with (and to fill up my sketchbook.)
ahh okay. I think I see what you mean with the shadows. I'm going to try out what you advised on a new piece and see how it turns out.... hopefully it won't look a hot mess xD
Ahh yeah I thought about doing something like that.. looking for some type of tattoo resource book or site but I honestly wouldn't use it too much. I didn't do that with this piece because she isn't my oc and I just had to draw what was already there BUT if I ever do make an oc with tattoos such as this, I'll be sure and look up some credible refs xD
It's just that.. ink-in-skin effect I feel like I have issues with drawing.
